"Minutes"
Of any given minute on any given day,
We fail to realize the words we never say.
Of all the minutes in which you and I had spend,
All in one terrible minute our friendship forced to end.
Of all the minutes in which we fought,
And all the good times to each other we brought.
Of all the minutes of which you and I would contend,
I never thought your life would end.
For the minute in which I heard you were dead,
I so much wished it were me instead.
It is for you that I still pray,
For every minute I wish you were here today.
At times on each other we would depend ,
All in one minute I lost my best friend.
For why you had to go I will never understand,
So close we knew each other like the back of our own hand.
And in the words that I wish I could have said,
I love you Jim Doug up to and beyond the end.

"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me..." (Psalm 23:4)
