I would like to let you know a little about Kurt. Kurt was a wonderful and precious 6 year old. He was all boy with a great curiosity about life. He was very bright and was doing well after a rough start in a new school. He did his very best to earn praise from his teacher and always brought to her attention when the class deserved praise. All the children in his class miss him very much. Kurt was into the things that all boys are into these day. Pogs, action figures, karate lessons, and the latest science fiction movies. He also cared very much for his sisters Emily and Tana. Emily no longer has a partner in building forts in the bedroom and Tana has no one to play games with as Emily is too old for that. Kurt left this world just like he entered it. When he was born, after the nurse cleaned him up, he was put into my arms. I carried him down the hall and put him into the baby warmer. He cried and I stuck my finger in and he grabbed it with his little hand. I talked to him for the first hour of his life and he listened. He did not cry the entire hour while holding my hand. While Kurt was being tended to after the accident everytime I had the chance I stuck my finger into his hand. He was unable to grab it like he did when he was a baby but I did talk to him. I had hoped he could hear me and be comforted that I was there but I will never know if he did hear me. When the doctors could do nothing more to save him they asked if I wanted to hold him. I said yes as I did when he was born. My little boy died in my arms with my wife beside me. Michael Osweiler
